ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Meet the Evaluator

Barbara "Kay" Newton is an independent travel intelligence specialist and founder of Globe Trotting With Kay. Through firsthand field evaluations, structured observation, and professional reporting, she helps hotels, destinations, venues, event organizers, and travelers make more informed decisions.

Kay approaches travel differently. She pays attention to the details that shape an experience—from arrival instructions, signage, transportation, and accessibility to service timing, cleanliness, communication, comfort, and overall execution. Her goal is to document not only how a place looks, but how the complete experience actually works.

Through GTWK, Kay transforms those observations into useful travel guidance for consumers and professional field intelligence for hotels, destinations, restaurants, event organizers, sports organizations, venues, and tourism businesses.
